MYKE DEANZ, also known as BIRDIE ROTH, started his music career as part of influential UK rap group PDC. Treating it as a hobby at first, MYKE finally realised his potential in the music game when various mix tapes distributed locally received rave reviews, prompting him to take his skills in rap, producing and sound engineering seriously. Taking his influences from early days NAS, DMX and JAY Z and current times T.I and 50 CENT, he perfected a sound that was hard hitting, stylish and refreshingly British. MYKE describes himself as just a normal guy from a less fortunate background. This forms the backbone of his music; providing informative commentary on life on the streets of South London, in particularly BRIXTON where he grew up. His laid back flow coupled with lyrics that his peers can identify with, propelled him and the rest of PDC to the forefront of the UK STREET MUZIK scene, receiving respect from music followers and scrutiny from the press. This notoriety saw MYKE DEANZ and the rest of PDC feature in various TV shows that aired on UK and European terrestrial and satellite television stations culminating in a book based on the life and times of PDC entitled Street Boys that rocketed into the top 10 in the UK book chart. Rising above the controversy, MYKE DEANZ has been involved in more than 10 successful EP’s including three solo projects. With over 200,000 plays on Myspace, MYKE DEANZ mission to make UK STREET MUZIK a global phenomena is well on its way to being achieved. “I want it to be known that UK artists are on par with American artists” says MYKE DEANZ who’s sights are set further than the UK and European music scenes.
